Keith received a degree in Exercise and Sport Science from Texas State University in San Marcos, TX. 

While at Texas State Keith obtained his first certification and started personal training at Gold’s Gym. Athletically Keith powerlifted with San Marcos Athletic Club and continued to play amateur/semi-pro football.  In his junior year he was introduced to the sport of Olympic lifting by Leo Seitz, Strength & Conditioning Coach, Texas State University.

Upon graduation Keith took a position at The Competitive Training Center as Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach to Matt Geirenger where he helped to implement programs for youth, high school and professional athletes. It was at this time that Keith began lifting under the tutelage of coach Ursula Garza.

Building on the lessons he learned working under Matt and his passions for Olympic Weightlifting, Keith began his personal training business at Hyde Park Gym and helped develop the programming and Olympic Weightlifting classes at Defiant Crossfit.

When not working with clients Keith continued his athletic pursuits and was able to work with Ursula at coaching seminars furthering his understanding of the sport of Olympic Weightlifting. Ursula was instrumental in Keith’s coaching and competitive career. Gaining an advanced weightlifting education under one of the Nations premier Senior International Coaches.
